Kilravock Castle for the King and Queens...

ok, so when i say Kilravock Castle, i mean Tami and Janes place. they have called it that because it is the street they live in. (apparently after a castle in Scotland). SO if that is the house, then what better housewarming theme than come as your inner king and queen. seeing as i don't have much in the way of dressing up clothes, i opted for the queen of accessories. tami was a princess, jane was a queen of chav, anna was robin hood prince of thieves, and there were many other great people to be seen. Elvis was even at the party.

took some great photos. oh and check out my shoes, don't remember if i have posted a photo of them before, but i am loving them!!!

so, to the photos... yay

the photos...

and here are some photos from the night, as promised.... aussie uni friends their housemates and friends (turkish, south african and english) in our front hallway. Me and Matt who i met in chile in 1998, long time no see... me and steph (my PL from Gangshow) and her friend (forgot the name, whoops.) Steph is the one with the dark hair and she has been over here just shy of 3 years. just a few people in our kitchen (if you look hard, you can see the back of Carrie's head). and Clement, me and Jose in the kitchen, ahhh, the housemates, well some of them anyways. We all had a fab night. well, off now to Tami and Jane's housewarming... will be good to get there cos it is cold out, so a warm house will be very welcoming.

take care
love you all,

part....Y

saturday night was a good night... well, maybe interesting is a better thing. Our poor little fish. Carrie thought they were going to die... I mean, i know vodka looks like fish food, but apparently it isn't as good for the fish. ha. we had a real mix of people in the house, aussies, english, northern irish, south african, turkish, french, canadian and then came the spanish. the level of noise in the house increased 10 fold... the amount of mess in the house increased 10 fold and well, the joy of the house increased too. although the spanish have a different way of partying to what i am used to! ha. we all had a good night, even after we found spaniards rumbling (drunken play fighting) in our room. Jose then decided to try and keep an eye on his friends so our rooms didn't get ruined. was very nice of him. got to bed at about 5am, and didn't want to face the mess the next day. we all got up and had a good day cleaning up, vacuuming, washing, etc etc.

it was great to see some of my friends again. one guy came to the party and i hadn't seen him since chile 7 years ago, and another girl from gangshow... it was sooooo fantastic. and of course carrie was here. it was a ball.

and then back to school on monday. I was tired, but it is now thursday night and only one day left till the weekend. I have had a great week at work, although today i had 5 cd cases broken and the cd player thrown on the floor when one student couldn't cope with the excitement in the room. and a few students got pushed over in the excitement too. I am grateful that little students bounce to a certain extent.

we have our first class assembly tomorrow and I am really excited. We made a class book of 'This is the bear', it looks fantastic. And we are going to sing a Hi-5 song to the other students.... go Hi-5. Lovin it!!!

might put some photos on in the next few days (if i remember). hmmmm, well, Clement is stressed over jobs, angelique is stressed over job interviews, jose is stressed cos daniella is leaving... everyone is stressed. I am not too bad, but i think i will be a bit stressed this weekend as the planning comes to it's last stages. Well, at least tomorrow I have a birthday party for the last part of the day, so should hopefully be a good one.

love youse all!!

6 months down...

well, i woke up this morning and realised it has been 6 months today since i left Australia. And I am having a blast over here. But have not done nearly as much as i had planned, so i better get cracking.

We are having a party on Saturday which will be a cultural fest as we have everyone bringing friends along. French, Spanish, Aussie, English, Italian, who knows...

School is going really well. I am loving finally being on my own class, but I am not enjoying the planning and early starts that goes along with that. Espcially when the tube goes on strike... oh well, this is London. And it has been a bit of a shock to the system actually having to keep on top of things, write up absolutely everything and prepare resources for the things i am teaching. But yesterday was an awesome day and today has been pretty good, with the students all quite calm.

Carrie is staying with me which has been fun... ummm, what else, hopefully planning a ski trip for mid-term, or if not, maybe a trip to france or italy.

so, 6 months down and who knows how many to go. Am loving it though

love you all! Miss you aswell,

a great big warm hug (well, cos i am cold... ha)

school, plus some

well, i am dead tired, but i have had a great week. I was complaining to a housemate on Tuesday how i was actually really quite scared to go to school. and i kind of still am. The kids are hard to figure out and there is a lot of planning to do, but i am sure i will get on top of that eventually.

Wednesday was great, no kids at school, just a training day. And then thursday and friday i had 5/7 kids in class. And friday afternoon i had 2 children who were very unsettled (one was throwing the other across the room or half-strangling him because he was too excited and didn't know what to do with all his energy) but then i put on the wiggles during drink and fruit and by the time we got to afternoon circle we put hi-5 on and all the kids were very calm. It was seriously AMAZING... a blessing and a great way to end my friday afternoon at school. I still have heaps of planning, but my headteachers advice was don't get overwhelmed, so i won't. ha. I am loving school and will learn a lot from being in an autistic class for 5 months.

umm, have had 2 friends from sydney stay with me this week, Bin and Shavarsh. It has been fab. we went to the producers tonight at Theatre Royal which was geat. Very funny, a bit crude, but a good show. And have hung out every night since wednesday either in town or at a nice pub or something. it has been nice to chill out and catch up with them and see some sights of LONDON.

and for those of you who know carrie, she comes tomorrow to stay for a month to work at the BBC, so things are all go here. But seeing as she is working, i can stay a bit later at school to do planning and we can do lots on the weekends or in the evenings. Although we will probably be getting to bed a bit earlier than i have previous nights.... oh well, tourists don't stay here that often, so i have to have a bit of fun with them. And i am turning into a boring sod never going into town anymore... too Lazy... bah.

well, bed now. will write in a few days.
love

Happy new year!!!

well, what is New Years without a friend getting thrown out of a pub for breaking someone's nose?? ha.

my plans for New Years fell through, so i went to a friend from uni's place for a bit of a celebration. we ended up going to the Walkabout (good old aussie pub) which was lucky, because it is a 2 minute walk from my house, so it was easy for me to get home. So we had a great night in an aussie pub with heaps of aussies, although to describe it think first year uni at North Sydney. But even though i was with some great people, the rest of the crowd were your typical drunk people who have one thing on their mind (and it was very crowded, so there were a lot of people wishing for some fun on new years eve)... so everytime someone walked past you you had to protect yourself from wandering hands. No wonder my friend tried to protect his girlfriend. But seeing as he had had a bit to drink, he thought headbutting the offender was the best way... the security guards weren't too happy with that, so our new years celebrations ended at about 1:15am. Not too bad an effort.

Oh and we got to see the fireworks from the Thames on the tv, in a much warmer environment than actually being there. And as much fun as having trousers soaked up to the mid-shin in beer is, i don't know how soon i will be going back to the walkabout. ha. But all in all, i did have a good evening.

I was missing home, but i was glad to be with friends! An intersting adventure for New Years to say the least.

well, sleep for me now i think.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! Hope you had fun bringing it in with people you love.

love you all,
